Description

LIST OF REPORTED BENEFITS OF TURKEY TAIL:

  • A number of studies have shown that turkey tail mushrooms have immune boosting properties.
  • Turkey tail mushrooms contain compounds called polysaccharopeptide (PSP) and polysaccharide-K (PSK)
  • PSP and PSK appear to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
  • Turkey tail may be helpful in keeping a balance of gut bacteria, therefore improving overall health. PSP regulates the gut microbiome by balancing levels of healthy bacteria in the intestines.
  • Limited research suggests that a component of turkey tail called protein-bound beta-glucan (PBG) could help prevent obesity. A study in mice, for example, found that PBG helped prevent weight gain in those that ate a high fat diet.

 

DOSAGE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Take 2 ml per day for standard good health, As a suggestion start with 1 ml in the morning and 1 ml in the afternoon for the first week, to allow the body to become accustomed to the product, thereafter up to 4ml per day, for maximum effect.
  • Benefits may vary from person to person given that weight, age, metabolism all play a role, one can expect to feel an improvement with 10 days to 2 weeks.
  • It is suggested to take this extract after a meal although our experience is that there is no apparent difference.
  • One can add the tincture into hot water to evaporate the alcohol if you wish, it is best taken under the tongue for maximum absorption.

 

PRECAUTIONS

  • Turkey Tail appears to be safe for most people in in high doses over prolonged usage.Side effects, however, have been recorded that include:
    • Gastrointestinal issues (bloating, gas, stomach pain, nausea)
    • Constipation
    • Cold and flu symptoms
    • Low blood pressure
    • Low blood sugar
  • Turkey tail mushroom may affect blood sugar levels and could interact with diabetes medication, causing your blood sugar to drop too low.
  • Turkey tail mushroom may have blood thinning properties and slow down blood clotting in people with bleeding disorders.
  • The PSP in turkey tail mushroom can alter how well cyclophosphamide works as a chemotherapy.
  • Turkey tail mushroom, PSK, or PSP extracts may interact with certain cancer drugs and should be monitored by your oncologist
